KOCHI: T.A. Joseph, Managing Director of Confident Group, said he is unable to come to terms with the death of Chairman C.J. Roy. He also said that the chairman’s death will not affect the company’s operations and that customers need not be worried. He was speaking at a press conference held in Kochi.

"Whatever the challenges, the group will move forward. What happened at the office of Confident Group Chairman C J Roy was only a routine inspection by the Income Tax Department. The officials did not exert any pressure. They are not our enemies. Such inspections are conducted at intervals. A similar inspection had taken place at the Confident Group office in 2016. In 2026, inspections were conducted at Confident Group and other institutions as well,” Joseph said.

He said the group fully cooperated with the Income Tax officials and that the officials also behaved properly. “There was no bad experience. We cannot say anything now about Roy’s death,” he added.

Joseph said that Confident Group has no liabilities and that its financial foundation is very strong. He said the company is satisfied with the investigation being carried out by the Special Investigation Team.

He also alleged that some YouTubers are spreading false propaganda against the group and making personal attacks. “It is not right to target a person who has passed away. People of Kerala will understand such false campaigns,” he said.

Joseph denied allegations that the group collected money from film personalities and real estate businessmen and invested it abroad. He said the company has not accepted investments from anyone and has no investors or debts. “We do not owe money to anyone; rather, we have money to receive,” he said.

He added that work has resumed at all project sites and that the chairman’s death will not affect the company’s activities. “There is no need for anyone to worry,” Joseph said.
