NEW DELHI: A large cache of weapons was seized during a raid conducted by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police in Chhattisgarh. The haul included advanced weapons allegedly hidden by Maoists in forest areas to evade security forces. The operation was carried out by a 57-member ITBP team led by Commandant Dushyant Raj Jaiswal and Second-in-Command Deepak Semwal. The weapons were recovered from four separate locations deep inside the forest.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has earlier stated that the country aims to eliminate Maoist influence by March 31. As part of this broader mission, intensified search operations are underway across Maoist-affected regions of Chhattisgarh. According to officials, the arms were concealed to prevent their seizure during ongoing security drives. The ITBP’s 29 Battalion recovered the stockpile from areas including Narayanpur after a day-long combing operation in the forest.
