CHANDIGARH: In a horrific crime, a man was arrested by police after it was found that he brutally killed his pregnant wife. The tragic incident took place in Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Haryana. Anshul Dhawan was arrested for killing his 27-year-old wife, Mahak. Police also say that after killing his wife, the accused tried to make it look like a murder committed by a gang during housebreaking. Mahak was an employee of HDFC Bank.

Mahak married Anshul Dhawan, a resident of Sector 14, Hisar and a chartered accountant, on September 25, 2025. Anshul had a suspicion about his wife. This is reported to have led to the murder. The couple, who had visited Hisar on Valentine's Day, returned at around 7 pm on Sunday. The murder is believed to have taken place later in the night.

Anshul called the police at night, saying that a gang forcefully entered their house and slit his wife's throat. Although it initially appeared to be a robbery case, the police found the real culprit after a detailed investigation. The police said that they were able to arrest the accused within 18 hours of the incident. Anshul was wearing gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints during the murder. It is reported that he first strangled Mahak to death and then slit her throat with scissors.
