THRISSUR: Union Minister Suresh Gopi, who voted in Thrissur in the Lok Sabha elections and Thiruvananthapuram in the local body elections, will be voting in Guruvayur in the assembly elections. It was revealed that Suresh Gopi will be voting in Guruvayur Devaswom Board English Medium School when the voter list after the SIR was released. The MP's office has come out with an explanation after criticism was raised.

In the Lok Sabha elections, Suresh Gopi's vote was registered at the address of the rented house in Nettissery. The Thrissur MP's vote was transferred to his own flat in Guruvayur because the rented house in Nettissery was sold. Suresh Gopi's office explained that the votes of his family members were also transferred to Thiruvananthapuram. Suresh Gopi's name is registered as voter number 697. The vote was registered to the Achutham apartment adjacent to the temple. Achutham is the apartment complex in Guruvayur. The apartment is owned by Suresh Gopi.

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Suresh Gopi and his family registered their names in the voter list and voted in Nettissery in Thrissur Corporation, stating that they were permanent residents. In the local body elections, he and his family voted in Sasthamangalam ward in Thiruvananthapuram Corporation. Congress leader Anil Akkara had come out with criticism against Suresh Gopi on this issue. His criticism was in a Facebook post.

"Kumbidi will vote in Guruvayur in this assembly election. Two months ago, he voted in Thiruvananthapuram in the corporation elections. A year ago, he voted in Thrissur in the Lok Sabha elections. This time, he is not with his family, but alone,' Anil Akkara wrote in the post.
