KOCHI: The Kerala High Court has expressed dissatisfaction with the Centre’s stand on the demand for setting up an AIIMS in Kerala. Earlier, the court had directed the Central government to conduct a feasibility study at the site suggested by the state. However, when the Centre sought four weeks’ time to submit its response, the court made it clear that such a long extension could not be granted.

The court also asked the Centre whether a decision has been taken on establishing AIIMS in Kerala and why the process is being delayed. The court has now given two weeks' time and directed that a representative of the Union Health Ministry appear online and submit a response regarding the feasibility study.
