Iran-Israel conflict: Malayali injured in Qatar

DUBAI: A Malayali man was injured in Qatar amid the escalating Iran–Israel conflict. The injured person has been identified as Hisham, a native of Venkitangu in Thrissur district. He suffered injuries to his hand and leg. Hisham is a former student of Sree Kerala Varma College.

He was injured in an attack that took place in Qatar on Saturday. According to reports, Hisham stepped outside his workplace after hearing a loud sound. A fragment from a missile that had fallen nearby struck his hand and then hit his leg. He underwent surgery on his leg. The information was conveyed to his brother on Sunday morning. By night, Hisham spoke to his relatives in Venkitangu. He had gone abroad only three weeks ago.

Following reports of the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has launched strong air attacks toward Gulf countries. Iran reportedly carried out strikes targeting areas with U.S. investments in cities such as Dubai, Doha, and Manama. Heavy attacks were reported in Dubai, Doha, and Manama on Sunday morning.
