‘Barged into flat, behaved in a sexual manner,’ police file case against director Chidambaram

KOCHI: The police have registered a sexual abuse case against young director Chidambaram. The Ernakulam South police have registered a case against him on the complaint of a woman. Chidambaram is the director of the superhit film Manjummal Boys. Another film he directed is Jan-E-Man.


The case has been registered four years after the incident that happened in 2022. The complainant has given a statement to the police that Chidambaram barged into his flat at Elamkulam in Kochi and behaved badly with sexual intent.


A case has been registered against the director under sections 74 and 75 of the Indian Penal Code. The director has been imposed with two charges-attack with intent to insult femininity and indecent touching of women. The police have informed that a detailed investigation into the complaint is going on. Ernakulam South Police also clarified that they will take action, including arrest, if necessary, after questioning Chidambaram.
