
KOCHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth Rs 10,800 crore. The function was held at Kaloor Stadium. The Prime Minister said that today presents an opportunity to accelerate the development of Kerala. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the polypropylene plant to be set up at the BPCL Kochi Refinery at a cost of Rs 5,500 crore. The Prime Minister also said that the plant will be able to produce four lakh tonnes of polypropylene per year.
The country is making progress in the AI and semiconductor sectors. We are a leading country in solar energy. Kerala should also make progress in the solar energy sector. All the projects inaugurated will benefit farmers, the industrial and the tourism sectors. The money spent on infrastructure will create employment opportunities. Thousands of youths in Kerala will get new employment opportunities,' Modi said. He also laid the foundation stone for a 50 MW floating solar project in West Kallada in Kollam. He also inaugurated the six-lane roads in the Thalappadi-Chengala section of National Highway 66 and the Vengalam-Ramanattukara section of the Kozhikode Bypass.
Modi had earlier attended the closing ceremony of the golden jubilee celebrations of Akhila Kerala Dheevara Sabha at Marine Drive. He appreciated the work being done by the Dheevara Sabha for marine conservation and also remembered Pandit Karuppan on the stage.
