NDA orchestrates surprise, fields former Congress leader Babu Divakaran in Kunnathunadu

KOLENCHERY: The National Democratic Alliance made an unexpected candidate announcement in the reserved constituency of Kunnathunadu on Sunday. Former Adoor Municipality Chairman and former Congress leader Babu Divakaran will be the NDA candidate in the constituency, said Twenty20 State President Sabu M. Jacob. Jackfruit is the election symbol of Twenty20.

BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar said Babu Divakaran’s candidacy was the first announcement of NDA in Kerala and confirmed that the full list will be out soon. Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated the NDA campaign in Kunnathunadu by painting the party sign on the wall.

“Here, NDA is presenting a candidate who does not even own a house but knows the pulse of commoners. Meanwhile, the left and right parties have fielded crorepatis as candidates,” said Sabu Jacob.
