TIRUR: Muslim Women’s League national secretary Noorbeena Rasheed is dissatisfied with the league's candidate list for the Kerala assembly polls. Noorbeena said the Women’s League faced total ignorance, and she even questioned the criteria behind the League providing a seat for Fathima Thahiliya and Jayanthi Rajan.
“It is not democratic justice to neglect women leaders who have worked for the party for a long time. While giving importance to new faces and youth in the list, experienced women were ignored. Even those who criticised Panakkad Thangal were given a seat. Fathima Thahiliya and Jayanthi are not representatives of the Women's League.
I am speaking for the Women's League. I am a firm believer in the League. I am not speaking for the sake of positions. No matter how big posts someone offers me, I will not leave the party. I have spoken for the party all my life. I have always protected the organisation. I need to express the pain and don’t want to fake any happiness. The Women's League has been here for years and was not born out of a sudden. I have not yet decided whether to campaign for the League's women candidates. I am the one who raised Jayanthi in the League. Let Jayanthi clarify whether she was insulted. I am not interested in pressure politics,' added Noorbeena Rasheed.
