PALAKKAD: Actor Ramesh Pisharody has made a career switch to politics and will soon make his electoral debut in Palakkad. Pisharody will reach Palakkad from Tripunithura, where he currently resides, at 4 pm today to start his campaign. The actor said if he wins, he will take over the good work carried out by former Congress MLAs in the constituency. Pisharody was talking to the media before leaving for Palakkad.
RAMESH PISHARODY:
“I am lucky to have been nominated by the Congress. I have received Mammootty's blessings. We both discuss political issues almost every day. If I win in Palakkad, I think I can bring Mammootty there. But I will not force any film star to campaign for me. Palakkad is my hometown. My mother's house is in Kuzhalmannam. My father came to Vellore for work, so he later settled in Tripunithura.
As MLAs, Shafi Parambil and Rahul Mankootathil did revolutionary work in Palakkad. The good things Rahul did will be continued.
At the height of the allegations, the media came to ask me about Rahul. I told them it is up to Rahul to decide whether to resign or not. Media quickly twisted the narrative to make it look like I supported Rahul on the issue”
