
NEW DELHI: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) announced that there will be no new textbooks for students of classes 10 and 11 this academic year. The new textbooks based on the National Education Policy 2020 will be introduced in classes only from the academic year 2027-28.
The new textbooks for classes 1 to 8 are ready. These will be available in print and digital formats. The NCERT said that the new textbooks for class 9 are currently being prepared and will be effective from the academic year 2026-27. The draft syllabus is now available on the NCERT website. Students of classes 10 and 11 will use the same textbooks as in the 2026-27 academic session. The revised textbooks for these classes will be released in the academic year 2027-28.
