
KOTTAYAM: Senior congress leader P J Kurian said the congress will win the assembly polls and Ramesh Chennithala will become the chief minister. He was speaking at the UDF convention in Thiruvalla. Chennithala was also present on the dais.
‘We are sure to win the polls. Chennithala will be the chief minister. He said that the party will decide. However, I don’t have any doubts about this,' said Kurien. However, opposition leader V D Satheesan and KPCC President Sunny Joseph have clarified that if the UDF comes to power, the high command will decide the chief minister.
Satheesan clarified yesterday that there will be no fight for the chief minister's post. There has been no fight even when the posts were between the cup and the lip. There is no contest for the chief minister's post in the Congress. He also said that the Congress' election fight is not after raising a leader.
The opposition leader had earlier clarified that the UDF activists have made unprecedented preparations in all constituencies in connection with the assembly polls. Mission 26 started a year ago. There is a team in the Congress. The matter of the chief ministerial candidate is clear. There are no problems in the Congress, Satheesan had earlier said.
