NEW DELHI: The Indian Navy is ready to provide security to Indian ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz with Iran's permission. In what is titled 'Operation Energy Security', five frontline warships were deployed in the Hormuz area. The mission is to safely escort Indian-flagged ships to the Arabian Sea. The ships that have passed through the strait in the past few days were escorted by the Navy. It is reported that 20 cargo ships stranded due to the conflict will reach India in the coming days.

The Navy will provide escort as they enter the Gulf of Oman through the Iranian-controlled strait. A US intelligence reported that Iran has deployed mines in its waters. Currently, only friendly countries like India, Pakistan, China, Russia, and Iraq are allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
