PALAKKAD: Congress councilor Prasobh C Valsan has been expelled from the party in Palakkad. The action was taken after a sexual harassment complaint was raised. This was informed by DCC President A Thankappan. The action was taken as per the directions of the KPCC leadership. The DCC President asked the councilor to resign if he has any ethics. The DCC President said that other party members should also show this morality and he does not think this will be a topic of discussion in the elections.

Meantime, the police have informed that an investigation will soon be initiated into the harassment complaint against the Congress councilor. The statement of the complainant may be recorded soon. Prasobh is presently absconding. The LDF and the NDA are planning to use the harassment complaint against the Congress councilor as a campaign weapon. LDF candidate in Palakkad N M R Razak responded that this is something that cannot be accepted as a human being.

NDA candidate Shobha Surendran criticized saying that this is proof that there are not just one Mamkootathil but many in the Palakkad constituency. She said that she will go to any extent against the culprits. Shobha demanded that a case be registered against Prasobh and he be arrested. If no action is taken, the culprit will not leave his house. Shobha Surendran responded by saying that she will meet the Palakkad SP in person and will protest if the arrest is delayed.
