PALAKKAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who addressed the sea of BJP supporters in Palakkad, opined that the political wind was changing its course in Kerala. The Prime Minister also raised the allegation that the state government has misappropriated and looted development funds provided by the Central Government.
“Marathathu Maarum” (what remains unchanged will change). PM Modi started his speech by delivering BJP’s campaign slogan and assured people that they would benefit from Modi’s guarantee of a developed state if voted for BJP. The Prime Minister inaugurated the NDA election public meeting organised at Kotta Maithanam in Palakkad on Sunday afternoon.
“Kerala has been trapped in the shackles of Left and Right parties for decades. Both LDF and the UDF employ vote bank politics. They don’t have any vision for the development of Kerala.
The CPM says that Congress is the B team of the BJP. The Congress also says that the CPM is the B team of the BJP. Both parties agree that BJP is, after all, the A team. The money given for projects like road and railway development, Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Awas Yojana did not reach the people. If there is somebody the government fears, it is the BJP. If the NDA government comes to power in Kerala, we will investigate all the scams of the LDF and the UDF.” Said PM Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi later attended the road show in Thrissur, which saw humongous participation from the crowd. Saffron flags, garlands, colourful flowers, tiger dance, kummatti and Kathakali were displayed, while thousands of people cheered on the footpath at Swaraj Round for their star campaigner.
At 4.22 pm, PM Modi landed at the helipad of Kuttanellur Government College and reached Swaraj Round in a vehicle. The road show started in front of the General Hospital at Swaraj Round at around 4.50 pm. Women, children and the elderly showered flowers, chanting "Jai Modi'.
PM Modi, wearing a saffron cap, a shawl in the colours of the party flag and a white shirt, conducted the road show in an open vehicle decorated with flowers. Workers came to various parts of Swaraj Road with Pulikali, Kummatti, Kathakali and musical instruments.
C.C. Mukundan, who resigned from the CPI and is the incumbent Nattika MLA and the NDA candidate, also accompanied the Prime Minister in the vehicle for the roadshow. Union Minister Suresh Gopi, NDA candidate from Thrissur Padmaja Venugopal, and candidate from Manalur K.K. Aneesh Kumar were also part of the PM’s road show.
