THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Luck often arrives unannounced, and sometimes in the most ordinary moments. For N.V. Padmanabhan, a native of Neduva in Parappanangadi, Malappuram, a routine stop turned into a life-changing moment as he won the Rs 10 crore Kerala State Lottery Summer Bumper prize this year.
Padmanabhan bought the ticket from near the Palakkad railway station. He had stopped at Palakkad while returning from Coimbatore. After finishing a meal at a restaurant, he stepped out and casually purchased a lottery ticket from a nearby shop, unaware that the brief decision would soon rewrite his fortunes.
It was only on Sunday that he realised he had struck the jackpot. The following day, he submitted the ticket at the State Bank of India branch in Parappanangadi.
The first prize-winning ticket, SB 517026, was sold by Palakkad district agent S. Madhusoodanan. The second prize of Rs 1 crore went to ticket SE 660573, which was also sold in Palakkad. The second prize ticket was distributed through Sree Mookambika Lucky Centre near the Palakkad Municipal Bus Stand and was sold at a lottery shop near the KSRTC stand.
