KOZHIKODE: Noorbina Rasheed resigned from the post of National General Secretary of the Women's League on Thursday. Noorbina sent her resignation letter to the leadership via e-mail in front of the media. She said that her resignation was not in protest over seat denial and said that if that was the case, she should have resigned long ago. Noorbina said that the Women's League is being severely neglected in the party.

“I will never leave the party. We are considered unfit to be fielded as candidates because we created the Haritha controversy. The party nominated the two women candidates without considering the interests of the Women's League. I protested not because I was ignored during candidate selection, but the leadership ignored those candidates we forwarded for the crucial seats,” said Noorbina.

“League gave Jayanthi Rajan a seat to show artificial secularism. In the era of artificial intelligence, artificial secularism is not an adornment for anything. Secularism should come from the heart. Even though the League formed a jumbo committee, it did not include a single Women's League leader. It was a decision that broke the hearts of women leaders,' said Noorbina Rasheed.
