No male child: Husband murders wife and two children

HANAMKONDA: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his pregnant wife and two young daughters in Hanamkonda, Telangana. The accused has been identified as Mohammed Azharuddin. The victims are his wife Farhat and their daughters, Umera (8) and Ayesha (6). According to police, all three were drowned in a swimming pool.

Police said the accused was upset because he did not have a male child. When he learned that his wife was pregnant with a third girl child, he allegedly pressured her to abort the pregnancy. When she refused, he decided to kill them. Initially, he told police that the three had accidentally slipped and fallen into the pool. He had also switched off the CCTV cameras before the incident, believing there would be no evidence. Reports say that he is the owner of the swimming pool.

After the birth of their two daughters, Farhat had become pregnant twice again, and on both occasions, he allegedly forced her to undergo abortions, suspecting the babies would be girls.

The case initially appeared to be an accident, but Farhat’s father approached the police with suspicions. Following this, police took Azharuddin into custody for questioning. At first, he denied the crime, but later confessed during a detailed interrogation. Police are also investigating whether anyone else was involved in the crime.
