AMBALAPPUZHA: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday strongly criticised the Left Front, saying that the Left would disappear after the upcoming election. He said that the Left no longer stands for its original ideology. He also alleged that the presence of former CPM leader G Sudhakaran at a Congress venue reflected the fundamental changes within the LDF. Rahul Gandhi made these remarks while speaking at a rally attended by G. Sudhakaran.
“The LDF is being guided by hidden forces of communalism. This will divide the country and spread hatred. People in Kerala have understood that there is an unhealthy relationship between the CPM and the BJP-RSS leadership. Many leaders within the Left Front are also aware of this reality. Earlier, the LDF stood for certain principles, but now it has moved away from them,” he said.
Rahul Gandhi also targeted the central government, alleging close links between corporate groups like Gautam Adani and the BJP leadership, including Narendra Modi. He further claimed that information related to the Epstein files includes names of ministers from Modi’s cabinet, and alleged that Donald Trump has information that could affect the Prime Minister’s image. He said this could influence Modi’s decisions, impacting farmers and energy security.
He also alleged that the BJP and Modi are targeting him and the Congress. “There are 38 cases against me because I oppose the RSS. Why is the Chief Minister of Kerala not being targeted? The gold of Lord Ayyappa was stolen here, but when the Prime Minister visited Kerala, he did not speak even a word about it. Modi has even forgotten God. His aim is to support the Left and the Chief Minister. He knows the Left is not a real challenge to the BJP at the national level," Rahul Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi arrived in Kerala today as part of his campaign for the state assembly elections. He is scheduled to attend events in Palakkad, Ernakulam, and Alappuzha.
