
KOZHIKODE: A Malayali woman who went trekking in Kodagu, Karnataka, has been reported missing. Saranya, a native of Nadapuram, Kozhikode, went missing two days back. The woman reached the Kodagu Tadiandamol peak on the 2nd of this month. This is the second-largest mountain in Karnataka. Trekking is permitted on the mountain for a distance of 14 km, which is covered with shola forest and meadows.
Saranya got lost during the trek. She had called her residence in the afternoon to inform them that she had lost her way. Later, nobody was able to contact the woman. Saranya, who works as a software engineer in Ernakulam, went on the trek alone. The Karnataka Forest Department and the police have been searching the mountains for three days. Saranya's family visited the Karnataka Chief Minister's legal advisor and Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna and requested his help. The MLA has reportedly instructed to intensify the search.
