
ALAPPUZHA: Traffic restrictions will be imposed on MC Road and AC Road on Saturday in connection with the visit of Narendra Modi, the District Police Chief said.
The restrictions will be in place from 12 noon to 6 pm. On AC Road, vehicles, including KSRTC buses operating on the Alappuzha–Kottayam route, must divert from Kidangara Junction and travel via Kunnamkari, Valady and Mulakkamthuruthi, then join MC Road at Punnamoodu and proceed to Kottayam. Vehicles travelling from Alappuzha to Thiruvalla should divert from Kidangara via Muttar and join the Thiruvalla–Ambalappuzha road.
KSRTC buses coming from Alappuzha to Changanassery through AC Road must terminate their service at Kailath Pump or Matha Bridge Ground.
Vehicles coming from Thiruvananthapuram and heading towards Ernakulam should take the route via Chengannur, Mulakuzha, Puthencavu, Arattupuzha, Koipram, Pullad, Mallappally and Manarcad bypass to reach Pattithanam Junction. From there, vehicles can proceed to Ernakulam, while those heading to Kottayam should take the KK Road via Manarcad.
Vehicles travelling towards Ernakulam via MC Road should divert from Chengannur through Mundankavu, Pandanad, Parumala, Mannar, Podiyadi, Chakkulathukavu and Ambalappuzha to reach the highway. Alternatively, they can travel from Chakkulathukavu via Muttar and Kidangara to join AC Road and proceed through Alappuzha.
