KANNUR: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said the houses in the Wayanad township will be handed over to the disaster victims before Vishu. He was speaking to the media while releasing the LDF’s progress report. He also criticized the Congress for not building a house to Shruthi, who lost her family and home in the landslide disaster.

‘The Wayanad township can be inspected by anyone. The government acted after listening to the affected people. The houses are fully completed. Some basic facilities need to be arranged there. The victims themselves said they would move in only after everything is ready. They themselves said that the ownership document is sufficient for the time being. We believe that all facilities for staying will be ready before Vishu. No one can mislead the people of Wayanad because they are the ones who have suffered. Let the Congress first build a house for Shruthi, then they can speak about Indira Guarantee,’ said the chief minister.
