Birthday and wedding anniversary next week; Film industry still in shock over popular actress' death

The Tamil television fraternity is still not out of the shock over the death of actress Subhashini Balasubramaniam. Subhashini, who gained immense attention for her role in the popular series 'Kayal', was active on social media with over four lakh followers. The actress was about to celebrate her 37th birthday on April 12. April 21 would have been her second wedding anniversary.

Police said that Subhashini hanged herself during a video call with her husband. Family issues are believed to be the reason for the suicide.

Subhashini is a native of Sri Lanka. She came to Chennai with the desire to make it big in the Tamil film and serial industry.

Her role in the serial 'Kayal' made her a popular name among Tamil families. She played the lead role in the film 'Ini Avan', which was shot in Sri Lanka. She acted opposite Aari Arjun in the film Ellaam Mela Irukuravan Paathuppan, which was released in 2023.
