Nashik horror

News of forced religious conversions and sexual assaults has become disturbingly commonplace in our daily headlines. However, the recent allegations emerging from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)—a crown jewel of the prestigious Tata Group—are particularly shocking. Reports suggest that for over four years, top officials secretly subjected female employees to forced conversions alongside psychological and sexual harassment. These revelations are deeply worrying, especially given the Tata banner’s long-standing reputation for integrity. Even more harrowing is the emerging conclusion regarding the Nashik incident; investigators suspect that the exploitation within the institution was not a series of isolated events, but part of a planned, organised terrorist scheme with international links.

The police investigation began a month ago following complaints from nine individuals, including eight female employees at TCS Nashik. Their testimony exposed the staggering scale of a secret operation that allegedly transformed a corporate IT center into a terror cell. To date, seven employees have been arrested, and investigators suspect that Zakir Naik, an anti-India religious preacher based in Malaysia, is the mastermind behind the plot. Nida Khan, an assistant HR manager accused of conspiring in these activities, remains at large. Given the complexity of the case—involving forced conversions, sexual harassment, and national security threats—the NIA, Maharashtra ATS, and Intelligence Bureau are now conducting a joint investigation. Recovered digital evidence suggests direct links to Naik, pointing toward a meticulously orchestrated plan.

The breakthrough in this case is attributed to a remarkable forty-day undercover operation conducted by seven female officers from the Nashik City Police. To infiltrate the company, these officers posed as sweepers and temporary staff, slowly earning the victims' trust to dismantle the "wall of silence" that protected the company’s darkest secrets. During their surveillance, the officers reportedly witnessed instances of sexual assault firsthand and secured critical CCTV footage. By closing every loophole, this sting operation has set a landmark precedent in the history of Indian criminal investigation.

The perpetrators specifically targeted young women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, systematically forcing them to change their attire and lifestyle as a precursor to coerced conversion. This was accompanied by a parallel campaign of psychological and sexual harassment designed to break the victims' will. Ultimately, this incident highlights a disturbing reality: many IT institutions operate as inaccessible mazes, shielded from public scrutiny. Within these "black boxes," labour exploitation and abuse can flourish undetected. The full extent of this network will only become clear once the NIA concludes its investigation, but one thing is certain: regardless of their influence, these malicious actors must be brought to justice and face the most severe punishments the law allows.
