THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The BJP leaders boycotted the all-party meet convened by the chief minister on CAA. They boycotted saying the meet convened by the chief minister is undemocratic and that the government has no right to convene the meet against the constitutional amendment approved by the parliament.
BJP representatives Sunday morning expressed dissatisfaction on the meet convened. BJP leaders M S Kumar and J R Padma Kumar demanded to pass a resolution for blocking the governor and Karnataka chief minister. Kumar told media that they are boycotting the meet as the chief minister did not approve it.
The government has no right to stage protests by convening a meet against the amendment act passed by both houses of parliament. The government should not act like a political party by observing a protest in this manner. The government cannot stage protests by taking money from the public exchequer, said Kumar. In the meanwhile, ‘Go Back’ was shouted against the BJP leaders who came to attend the meet.
