Coronavirus a biological weapon?: Senkumar calls for study as social media trolls him over spelling mistakes

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Former DGP TP Senkumar in a tweet has expressed his suspicions over the recent coronavirus outbreak. In a tweet, the former DGP expressed his suspicion whether the coronavirus is a biological weapon and it should be studied.

Though Senkumar's concern appeared to be thought-provoking, it received considerable trolls on social media for spelling mistakes in the tweet. Twitterazis pointed out two mistakes in the three-sentence long tweet.

Meanwhile, Health Minister KK Shailaja stated that that 288 persons in Kerala have been kept under medical observation in the wake of the coronavirus scare, state Health Minister K.K. Shailaja asserted that there was no reason for any concern.

Of these 288 persons, seven are admitted in various state hospitals whereas the rest have been advised rest at home and to report to health authorities in case their condition worsens.

The authorities are also closely monitoring about 60 persons in Kozhikode who have returned from China.

On Monday, Chief Secretary Tom Jose got in touch with the Centre for taking steps to bring back mostly Kerala medical students from Wuhan in China, which is the epicentre of the coronavirus outbreak.

Shailaja last week called a meeting of top health officials to take stock of the situation and ordered for requisite arrangements at state-run hospitals to meet any eventuality and setting up of isolation wards.
