THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Travancore Devaswom Board has made a request to devotees not to visit Sabarimala for the next monthly puja, considering the outbreak of coronavirus.

However traditional rituals and pujas will take place at Sannidhanam.

Warning ads will be issued to media groups in other states such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh so that devotees from these states don’t visit Sabarimala.

Meanwhile, Guruvayur Devaswom Board has also come forward with cautionary steps to prevent Coronavirus infection. It has decided to do away with cultural programmes usually held as part of the temple festival. There is also decision to suspend Annadanam (food served free for devotees).

Till March 31, people will not be allowed to visit elephant camp at Guruvayur. Devaswom board has also prohibited crowding of people on the temple premises.
