Dark Room wins Golden Crow Pheasant; Lijo Jose wins best director at IFFK 2018

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Awards of 2018 International Film Festival of Kerala were announced at the closing ceremony in Nishangandhi. Malayalam films received multiple accolades as Lijo Jose Pellissery won Silver Crow Pheasant Award for the best director. The award was for his direction of the film 'Ee.Ma.Yau.". Ee Ma. Yau also won NETPAC award for best Asian film. It was also won best popular movie award.

Iranian movie 'Dark Room' directed by Rouhullah Hejazi won Golden Crow Pheasant Award for best film. The award consists of a certificate and prize money of Rs 15 lakhs.

'Sudani from Nigeria' won FIPRESCI award for best Malayalam film. ‘Taking the Horses to eat Jalebis’ director Anamika Haksar won the award for best debutant director.

The awards were handed over to the recipients by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
