KOCHI: The police arrested eleven more for organising a reception for Big Boss contestant Dr Rajith Kumar on his arrival at the Cochin International Airport despite restrictions on such gatherings in view of the coronavirus threat. With this, the total arrested has touched 13. Meantime, the main accused Rajith Kumar is still absconding. Though police reached his rented house near Aluva Central Bank, he was not found there. The police also raided his house in Aluva and Attingal.

The Nedumbassery police had the other day registered a case against 75 people for organising the reception at the airport by violating the directive issued by the government to prevent spread of novel coronavirus in the state. The fans organised a reception outside the domestic terminal for him who reached Sunday night in Indigo flight. Majority of his fans were students and some small children were also there.

The Special Branch reported about the reception at the last minute but the Nedumbassery police did not take it seriously. The team was able to organise the mass reception there because of that. The authorities had instructed to reduce the number of those coming to see off and receive those going and coming from abroad.
