KOLLAM: In the wake of the spread of coronavirus, check posts in Tamil Nadu restricted vehicles from Kerala. Vehicles were stopped at the Puliyara check post, border of Kollam district. Only KSRTC buses and goods vehicles were permitted to leave after strict inspection. Strict inspection will be held at the Puliyara check post.

All vehicles coming from Kerala will be subjected for an inspection. Entry for temple visit, marriage and pleasure trips have been banned strictly. Collectors have been instructed to tighten control by evening. Tamil Nadu has restricted transportation of vehicles via Walayar check post. Only permanent residents of Coimbatore and people going to hospitals will be permitted to leave. All other

Meantime, with the confirmation of COVID-19 in Kudagu district, the health department, police and revenue team have made the inspection more stringent at the Kiliyanthara Check Post, the entry to Kerala. The main route to Kerala is via the Virajpet pass route from Kodagu. Vehicles from Bengaluru and Mysuru enter Kerala through this route.
