KASARGOD: In a bizarre incident, a few doctors and health workers in Kasargod were allegedly beaten by the police when they were going for duty. The cops have come under criticism for their indiscriminate action.

Following this incident, KGMOA representatives met Kasargod district police chief P S Sabu and expressed their grievance. According to the complaint, the police hurled abuses and manhandled Badiyadukka C H C staff Dr Aravind Vidhyasagar, while he was going to shop after dropping her wife Dr Aparna at Kasargod general hospital.

Uduma CHC staff nurse Nirmala was also threatened by policemen while going for duty.

Policemen waved down and threatened Chattanchal PHC staff Dr Fathimath Sajitha while he was going for as well as returning from duty. The complaint said the police resorted to such harsh manners even after showing them their ID cards.

Meanwhile, the SP told the representatives that he would inquire into the incident and take proper action against guilty cops.
