Three more confirmed of COVID in Idukki, two tested positive in random test

THODUPUZHA: Three more people have been confirmed of coronavirus in Idukki. The disease was confirmed in the test results obtained last night. One of the three confirmed of the virus is a municipal councillor.

One is a nurse of Thodupuzha district hospital. With this, infected cases in Idukki rose to 17.

All three have been shifted to the General Hospital in Thodupuzha.

A high level meet was convened by Minister M M Mani to assess the situation in Idukki. It was in this meeting the district collector mentioned that after the chief minister’s meet yesterday three more were confirmed of the virus.

The virus was confirmed on the councillor from the ward of a person who attended the Tabligh conference. The councillor had actively participated in an awareness campaign in the area.

The nurse confirmed of the virus had served in the casualty of the district hospital. She was on duty the other day also. The nurse was confirmed of the virus in random examination. She was not directed to go under isolation as she did not show any symptoms.

New patients are found via random tests and this is worrying. The third confirmed of the virus is a bank official working in Bengaluru.
