THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday said that a special pass with one-week validity will be issued to those people who have to travel to other districts for work. The employees can obtain the passes from Station House Officers in respective police stations.

The government has also launched an online facility to issue travel passes. The format of application for the pass has been published by the police so that those who are unable to file online application will be able to make use of it. People can copy this format, fill the details and submit the application, the CM added.

Doctors working in government and private hospitals, health workers, Kudumbashree workers, sanitation workers, journalists, government employees, people employed in ISRO, IT sector and data centres need not avail the inter-district travel passes. These people can travel using their official identity cards. They are also exempted from 7 pm to 7 am travel ban.

However, the police will not issue passes to regions that have been designated as hotspots, the CM added. Application for inter-district travel pass must be submitted using the following website: https://pass.bsafe.kerala.gov.in/
