THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister K K Shylaja explained at the cabinet meeting that the COVID situation is a cause of concern. The cabinet decided to make home quarantine stricter and to strengthen observation. She assessed that number of patients in the state are likely to exceed 5000. She clarified that the focus is not on the increase in the number of patients but to hold the death toll. Asking expats returning to the state to pay for quarantine was discussed in the cabinet meet. The chief minister said that he will consider to make free quarantine for poor expats.
