Woman found dead at Chennithala tests positive for COVID-19; source unknown, around 10 policemen quarantined

ALAPPUZHA: A woman who was found dead with her husband in a house in Chennithala on Wednesday has tested positive for COVID-19. The woman has been identified as Mavelikkara native Devika Dasan (20). However, the sample of her deceased husband Jithin tested negative for the virus. Meanwhile, around 10 policemen who conducted inquest of the deceased have been placed in quarantine.

Devika's source of infection is unknown. The couple had eloped two years back and following this, the police had registered a POCSO case against Jithin. The couple later got married on May 6 and started living together in the rented house since then.
