Key arrest in gold smuggling case: Person accused in professor's hand chopping case nabbed, NIA confirms terrorist links

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The NIA has arrested key persons in Muvattupuzha in connection with the Thiruvananthapuram airport gold smuggling case. The arrested has been identified as Muhammad Ali Ibrahim and Muhammad Ali. They've been remanded by the NIA special court in Kochi.

Muhammad Ali Ibrahim is also the 24th accused in the case related to chopping off a professor's hand. With this, terrorist link to the gold smuggling case was confirmed.

Ramees, who was arrested earlier, gave hints which led to the arrest of these two. It is reported that Muhammad Ali Ibrahim and Muhammadali distributed the gold given to them by Ramees. Ramees had met them at a hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. As per reports, more arrests will follow.
