COVID-19 claims another life in Kerala: Alappuzha native dies, death toll close to 100

ALAPPUZHA: One more COVID-19 death has been reported in Kerala. The deceased has been identified as Cherthala native Purushothaman (84). He was under treatment at Ernakulam medical college. He was a liver patient and also had diabetes.

With this, the death toll in the state due to the viral disease rose to 98. The health department confirmed three deaths on Thursday.

Swab tests confirmed viral infection of Manjeswaram native Khadeeja (51) (died on July 31), Uppala native Shaharbanu (73) (died on August 2), and Vizhinjam native Silva Adimai (63), who died on August 5.
