Mysterious attempt going on to split Hindu religion, make mileage: Thushar Vellapally

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NDA convenor and BDJS State president Thushar Vellapally has said curious attempts are going on to split Hindu community and reap mileage out of it.
He was speaking at the valedictory function of Sabarimala Samrakshana yatra led by P S Sreedharan on Monday. Tushar had chaired the function.

“The government should bring in an Ordinance in the Sabarimala women entry issue. The government should shed its adamance and take recourse to the path of consensus. Those who had filed an affidavit in the Supreme court in favour of Women (of all ages) entry and against the traditions of the believers should not try to convert Sabarimala into a battle field. The ruling front is obliged to protect the religious sentiments and beliefs of people from any religion. Hindu community which is a majority is not the one that should stand divided. They should sit around a table and solve issues through discussions and concessions. Today when temples and beliefs come within the grab of no-believers, we have to think whether it augurs well for the majority community,” he said.

Reminding the teachings of Sree Narayana Guru, he said ideology of unity is the need of the hour. The protest march started without any preparations from Pandalam had become a big movement. “This is just a beginning…”
