COVID: Kerala reports 5457 positive cases on Tuesday; 4702 cases through contact, 24 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5457 COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja informed. Among the new cases, 4702 persons developed the disease through contact including 607 cases without an identified source of infection. 60 health workers tested positive for the virus today.

Meanwhile, 7015 patients tested negative for the virus on Tuesday.

The state recorded 24 COVID deaths on Monday with the toll rising to 1376.

Malappuram- 706
Alappuzha- 647
Kozhikode- 597
Thiruvananthapuram- 413
Kottayam- 395
Palakkad- 337
Kollam- 329
Kannur- 258
Pathanamthitta- 112
Wayanad- 103
Kasargod- 65
Idukki- 49

As many as 46,193 samples have been tested in the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are 688 hotspots in the state with the addition of 10 regions and the removal of 4.
