State BJP to approach high court against amendments in police act, K Surendran will file plea

KOCHI: BJP will approach Kerala high court against the recent amendments in police act. State BJP chief K Surendran will file plea over the issue. The party alleges that the amendment is an encroachment upon the fundamental rights of the people.

Congress has also opposed the amendments in the police act. Meanwhile, the government is also considering to change the controversial provisions in the amended act. Stiff opposition was registered by CPM and the police department against the amended law.
