THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The case in which a junior health inspector sexually assaulted a covid 19 patient, witnessed a u-turn on Monday. The complainant in her affidavit has said that no sexual assault has happened and it was consensual sex. On the basis of the victim’s testimony, the accused was given bail by the high court.

The high court has asked the DGP to submit a detail report after investigating the case on the basis of the victim’s testimony. The victim has earlier filed the complaint that she was sexually assaulted after the health inspector summoned her to his home for giving covid 19 negative certificate.

The woman was on quarantine after coming back from Malappuram. In the covid 19 test held at Kulatoopuzha community health centre, she was tested negative. When she called junior health inspector Pradeep Kumar for the certificate, he asked her to come to his homeland on October 3rd when she visited his home at Bharatanallor she was attacked, her hands were tied and she was sexually assaulted on that night.
