COVID: Kerala reports 5420 new cases on Tuesday; 4693 cases through contact

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5420 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan informed. Among this, 4693 persons developed the disease through contact including 598 cases without an identified source of infection. 83 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 52 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 5149 patients tested negative for the virus today.

The state recorded 24 COVID deaths on Tuesday with the toll rising to 2095.

Kasargod- 99

In the last 24 hours, 59,983 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.04.

With the addition of 4 new regions today and the removal of 4, there are 556 hotspots in the state.
