Kerala clocks 5643 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, 4951 cases through contact; 5861 recoveries, 27 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5643 cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, health minister KK Shailaja informed. Among this, 4951 persons developed the disease through contact including 571 cases without an identified source of infection. 87 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 34 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 5861 patients tested negative for the virus today.

The state recorded 27 COVID deaths on Sunday with the toll rising to 2223.

With the addition of 2 new regions today and the removal of 8, there are 524 hotspots in the state.
