COVID-19: Kerala records 5375 new cases on Tuesday; 4596 cases through contact, 26 deaths

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala confirmed 5375 cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, Health Minister KK Shailaja informed. Among this, 4596 persons developed the disease through contact including 617 cases without an identified source of infection. 114 persons who came from outside the state also tested positive for the virus. 48 health workers tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 6151 patients tested negative for the virus today. As of now, there are 61,092 active cases in the state.

The state recorded 26 COVID deaths on Tuesday with the toll rising to 2270.

In the last 24 hours, 58,809 samples have been tested. The test positivity rate stands at 9.14.

With the addition of 3 new regions today and the removal of 6, there are 501 hotspots in the state.
