KOCHI: High court will issue the verdict on the plea seeking to cancel bail given to Alan and Thaha in connection with Pantheeramkavu UAPA case on Monday. It is pointed out in the plea that the NIA court has granted bail to the accused without evaluating the evidence against them.
The accused have informed the court that the probe agencies were not able to find the necessary evidence to impose provisions of UAPA on them on the basis of the case. Police arrested Alan and Thaha from Pantheerankavu in Kozhikode on November 2nd, 2019 citing Maoist links.
UAPA has been imposed on the youths over the allegation that they have worked in a banned organisation. Afterwards, NIA took up the investigation of the case. The court granted bail to both of them with severe conditions on September 9th.
