KOCHI: The Kerala High Court granted bail to former minister V K Ebrahim Kunju in the Palarivattom bridge corruption case. The court granted bail to Ebrahim Kunju, the fifth accused in the case, on strict conditions considering his health.

Bail was granted to him on the condition that he should produce a bond of Rs 2 lakh, surrender his passport, should not leave Ernakulam district and should co-operate with the investigation.

Earlier, Kunju had filed a plea in the court seeking permission to contest for the Muslim Education Association. He was granted bail following his request to withdraw all pleas including this one. The state government did not object to his bail application considering his health.
