Extremely heavy rains predicted in Kerala, orange alert in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of extremely heavy rains in many parts of the state. Orange and yellow alerts have been announced in various districts depending on the rains.

The IMD has announced orange alert in Thiruvananthapuram today. Rains of 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm will be received in 24 hours in isolated places. Orange alert has been sounded in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki districts today.

Orange alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Idukki districts tomorrow. 64.5 mm to 204.4 mm rains are expected to get in 24 hours in isolated places.
