KOZHIKODE: CPM leader and Kozhikode former mayor Thottathil Raveendran said BJP state chief K Surendran called on him requesting to join the party. He told Surendran that he could not agree with BJP and that has a membership of CPM for 50 years.
K Surendran came to Raveendran's house at Chakorathukulam in Kozhikode after the local body elections. He wanted me to join the BJP. I believe in God and at the same time a communist also. He said there is no crisis in CPM for the believers.
Meantime, Surendran denied his allegation. He said his visit was not for any political aim and visited him as a friend. Raveendran is presently party local committee member. Raveendran had twice served as the chairman of the Guruvayoor Devaswom Board and had asserted his stand on faith earlier also.
