THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has decided to increase RT-PCR tests in the state. The new move is following the rise in Covid cases and other states imposing restrictions to passengers from Kerala. The government has also issued new guidelines for RTPCR testing.
The government directed to set up more RT-PCR lab facilities in the state. In addition to government agencies, testing outsourcing is also permitted. If any lapse is found in the Covid results, the lab's license will be revoked. The guideline has mentioned that the test results should be submitted within 24 hours. Failure to do so will result in the lab's license being revoked.
Mobile RT-PCR labs will also be set up in the state. For this, the government has given a tender to a private company. The test fee at these places will be only Rs 448.
